Welcome to the Camp Sweeney Alumni Page. What a wonderful year of blessings the campers, alumni and staff of Camp Sweeney have enjoyed. Close to 900 incredible campers participated in our summer sessions and another 150 are anticipated to participate in our Winter Session. The 60th year reunion was a great time for close to 400 former campers and staff to come together and enjoy fellowship while remembering their fond times together at camp. These experiences are what camp is about. As I have mentioned numerous times in the past 25 years, what makes Camp Sweeney so special is not the place but the wonderful people that come together and give so much of themselves to make up this unique family. Even though we have been so richly blessed with this wonderful year, the downturn in the economy has placed hardships on many our campers’ families. So much so that we have had to grant much more aid than in past years. This has put Camp Sweeney in a bit of a bind to continue to provide this kind of help in the future. As you know we never turn away campers with diabetes who can demonstrate financial hardship. To be able to continue this mission, I asking this holiday season for a little help from each of our former staff and campers. A donation of just $10 from each alumni would help continue the 60 year tradition of helping these kids come to camp.
