Camp Sweeney 2008

Regular Summer Sessions
The traditional 20-day summer sessions span June and July each year. Approximately 250 campers, ages 5 to 18, fill the cabins and campgrounds for three weeks of fun, fellowship, medical education and lifestyle enhancement. The length and intensity of these sessions are the reasons campers obtain successful diabetes management.
Family Weekend Session
Camp Sweeney offers a weekend for the entire family called the Spring Fling Weekend, which takes place in late April. Campers and their families, ages 3 years and up, check in on Friday for three days of activities, educational seminars, and sharing of experiences. Parents are offered an opportunity to share the Camp Sweeney experience; they are challenged to climb Reaction Hill with their children, sleep in cabin bunks, and sharpen their skills at the archery and riflery ranges. During this family session, parents care for their own children's medical needs. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult of the same gender who can sleep in the same cabin with them.
Senior Weekend
Senior Weekend is a special weekend of fellowship for older campers. To attend, campers must be age 13 or older and have attended a three week summer session in the same year. The weekend features a special senior dinner and evening, as well as a full day at Six Flags Over Texas.
