A summer at Camp Sweeney is like no other. Sweeney offers an experience that can’t be found anywhere else, all against the backdrop of a summer camp built to serve children with a lifelong medical condition, Type 1 diabetes.LEARN MORE ABOUT OUR MISSION
“Camp Sweeney has given me lifelong friendships, countless hours of medical experience, and the opportunity to change the lives of our amazing campers. Sweeney is the most rewarding summer job you will ever have.”
St. John’s University
Camp Sweeney counselors are trained to master the tools of diabetes management, including blood tests and insulin injections. Counselors gain valuable, hands-on experience working both autonomously and with a supportive team of medical professionals.
“When I decided to work at Camp Sweeney I had no idea that it would positively impact my life just as much as the lives of the kids I was serving. Camp Sweeney is not just a physical place, it is a family.”
