Archery

Cierra Thompson always holds her own in a large class full of Morris Men and Dillard Dolls. She has gotten better at shooting every day and absolutely nailed the target today with a compound bow. Awesome job, Cierra!!

Arts and Crafts

COD Kayla Cates did an AMAZING job today whipping out some trendy tie dye patterns and being an incredible role model! Fantastic job Kayla!

COD Lexy Buckley-McNamee was fantabulously awesome and worked her creativity in our activities today! Go Lexy!

Our artist of the day is Kara McLaughlin for being a Picasso at tie dye and helping out other kids during the craft!

Taylor Hart really showed off both her artistic talents and her rocking helping hand skills when she helped a fellow camper with their craft! Keep it up Taylor!!

Baseball

Fourth period baseball was filled with some sun and tons of hits. Today’s COD, Maddox Duane, showed some serious hard work and determination when he worked a long at bat and ended up with an infield single. Nice work, Maddox!

Baseball ADV

The rain cleared up today just in time for some Sweeney baseball. After a quick warm-up, campers took the field and displayed great baseball skills. Specifically, the COD Mackenzie Criswell, worked hard to draw a walk and hit a single. Her hard work and effort did not go unnoticed. Nice job, Mackenzie!

Basketball

Karenna Traylor was unstoppable in knockout today and was making big shots all morning! Moreover, she was super energetic and was having a great time overall! Keep it up, Karenna!

Basketball ADV

Rese McGruder missed a few shots early in today’s scrimmage but certainly didn’t let that shake his confidence! Rese ended up nailing some huge shots for his team and made a big defensive play down the stretch to lead his team to a big come-from-behind win! Nice job, Rese!!

Basketball Outdoor

Maddox Duane displayed fantastic sportsmanship throughout today’s games and made sure everyone had a good time! He made some awesome shots and played great defense too! Way to go, Maddox!

Boating and Canoeing

Period 1: Rock Hebert took the rain in full stride and didn’t let any storm clouds stop him from paddling away and helping others with their canoes! Congrats, Rock!

Period 2: Our COD is Laramy Smith because of his generosity and positive attitude out on the water! Great job, Laramy!

Broadcasting

Period 1: It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No, it’s our COD, William Watts! Great recap of Condor Man, Will!

Period 2: Our COD is Keanna White! She powered through a little bit of tiredness and fabulously hosted the whole period!!

Challenge Course

Period 1: Even in the event of rain, Kaleb Jarmon was able to keep everyone’s spirits up with his awesomeness in rain games. Thanks for all your help!

Period 2: Zip, zip, hooray to Ben Mckinnerney for his eagerness and encouragement of everyone on the zip line. Great job and see you tomorrow!

Period 3: Call out to Keanna White, for flying fast and furious down the zip line. Keep up the good work and keep flying high!

Choir

Today in Sweeney choir, the group learned a new song and Lia Arft was on top of it singing her heart out and setting a good example. Always appreciated. Congratulations Lia!

Cross Country

The COD is Drew DaVault! Drew did an amazing job today helping to lead the pack and being quick to accept the challenging hill run! Amazing job, Drew!

Disc Golf

We had an exciting Leisure Wednesday in disc golf! Our COD’s were Lance Hoppenstein for his leadership with the younger golfers, and Carter Olberding, for his bravery and willingness to carry the new official disc golf mascot! Leedle the Turtle! Super proud of you guys!

Football

Today, Tyler Lowe won the honor of COD! He helped facilitate our scrimmage and encouraged all the other campers to join in on the fun. Congrats, Tyler!

Hiking

Hiking COD is Mackenzie Criswell! She continued to traverse through the rugged terrain through injury! Unlocking her inner Bear Grylls, she did a great job!

Lacrosse

In today’s lacrosse class, the Hillcrest Hunk, Dalton Pagan, was amazing. It as his first time laxin, but he picked it up so fast. His passes were pristine and he kept all his catches casual as he looked like a seasoned pro!

Mini Golf

The early morning rain made for some less than ideal conditions today at mini golf, but the campers pressed on and had a great time. Mini golf’s COD Lance Hoppenstein thought outside of the box and helped get KPFC running over the speakers. This made golf more enjoyable and allowed us to better embrace the Camp Sweeney spirit. Thanks, Lance!

Paintball Combat

In Paintball Combat first period, Ben Mckinnerney showed off his awesome referee skills and an awesome attitude earning him the title of COD!

In period three, COD Aaron Ackles lit up the paintball fields and covered everyone in the class in yellow paint!!

Riflery

Leo Becerra has been constantly patient and respectful all week and it really showed today, even as people were tired and all over the place. He is a great shot too and is the best helper in the class.

Riflery Adv.

COD is Justus Christman! With such a small class it is easy to be off task and rowdy. Justus did a great job setting a good energy level without being out of control. He is fun to be in class with and puts in great effort every day.

Rocketry

Shout out to our COD Brek Hammett! His rocket is looking super fun and he was a pro during today’s build! #letsfly

Rock Climbing

Mr. Seth Hoppenstein is the COD today in rock climbing! He made it to the very top and touched the moon! Ain’t no challenge hard enough!

Roller Hockey

We had a good day today as the ice transformed into the outback for Way Down Under Wednesday! Blake Strawn takes home COD for his all around great performance, nonstop hustle, and moves that were as smooth as Vegemite on toast!

Skatepark

Skater of the day was Matthew Lout! Some gnarly falls didn’t stop him from jumping fearlessly back on the board! #battlewoundwednesday

Soccer Ironman

On the first day of full field scrimmage, Danielle Bollier is the COD! She was enthusiastic and energetic throughout the period. She kept everyone involved and positive. She also has some serious soccer skills!

Sweeney Fit

Jonathan Savarese poured his heart and soul into the Sweeney Swoldier today. He refused to quit and showed incredible spirit. #pushuppower

Swimming

COD in swimming goes to the lovely Lia Arft! Lia had the biggest smile today despite not having the best swimming conditions and her joy was infectious!

Rachel Johnson is our super swimtastic COD for swimming! She was very helpful and inclusive and she swam her tail off in the wavy waves!

Today’s lovely COD in fourth period is Gillian Magruder! This Simmons Sweetheart actually was the sweetest playing with all of the super crazy cool kids messing around in the pool! Thanks for just being you, Gillian!

Our very own Beautiful Bonner Babe, Livi Blackwell is the COD!! She was floatin’ and talkin’ to everyone like there’s no tomorrow. Good work Livi! We love you!

Tennis

Simon Geren was COD today because of his AMAZING teaching skills. He had a blast teaching tennis four square and made the class extra fun!

Tumbling

Our COD had a super awesome time practiing cool flips and tricks today! She showed off her amazing round off back-handspring and had a great time! Congrats to Jaysea Zucca!!

Ultimate Frisbee

COD is Christian Nicolas for getting some hits, having some slips, and still finding the strength to carry his teammates anyway! #strong

Videoproduction

Aspiring TV star, Mason Steele was doing it all today in video production! His airtight drone operation, camera skills, and beaming personality made this COD stand out!

Volleyball

The COD in volleyball for water Wednesday is Dylan Bell! He “killed” it in the water-balloon toss and cheered on his teammates the whole class! He “served” mad energy on and off the court and made the class so much fun!

Waterpark

Matthew Zavala blew everyone out of the water with his persistent participation today! Matthew did not stop moving all class. Keep up the energy Matt!

Drew DeVault showed the ultimate kindness when he was promised a ride on the jet ski and let everyone else go instead! Thanks for being one awesome opossum Drew!

Today’s totally awesome tubing camper is Lynleigh Bruno! She showed waterpark how its done with her patience waiting in line for tubing and her tremendous enthusiasm. Congrats Lynleigh!

Zumba

Charlie Crawford out-zumba’d us all! He had terrific energy and hyped everyone up. This Morris Man had so much F-U-N!

Zumba was a blast, but it wouldn’t have been the same without Avery Myatt. She was stubbornly amazing and kept us pushing ourselves. So proud of her!
