Field Games
As our time at field games comes to a close, there’s no better way to end the session than by awarding Alaina Urbach with COD. She was fierce, she was positive, and she gave kickball her all. You go, girl!
Hiking
Our final camper of the day is Willa Berry. We are so grateful to have her in our class and could not have had a more exciting year! From Matt & Jake, thank you and we love you, CS Hiking!
Lacrosse
Lacrosse’s COD today was Jonah King! New to the class, Jonah played a crucial role in our team and was always there for a ground ball! Great job, Jonah. And thanks for an amazing third session Sweeney laxers!
Sweeney Fit
What better way to end the summer than with our awesome Sweeney Swoldier workout! Alex Anderson, a Sweeney Swoldier first timer, not only completed the workout in 23 minutes flat, but he went above and beyond using a medicine ball to enhance his squats, making him our final Sweeney Fit COD of the summer!
Ultimate Frisbee
On his second day of Ultimate in 6 years, Kyler Fields went psycho mode, catching multiple touchdowns. #sweeniors #keep it real

Hannah Powell absolutely crushed it in archery today! After taking the class for all 3 weeks, she shot for the first time and nailed it!
Arts and Crafts
What a great finish to our regular class schedule in Arts & Crafts! We made lanyards and beaded bracelets to close out the session.
In 2nd period, Allisyn Sparks had a great day and worked hard all class.
In 3rd period, Taylor Phifer learned how to make a lanyard for the first time!
In 4th period, Roland Peery worked hard on a bracelet all class period.
In 5th period, Hayli Davis showed her stuff and made several cool bracelets. Way to go guys!
Baseball Adv.
Today’s baseball adv. COD is Garrett Hicks for his great approach at the plate. Even with 2 strikes he stayed patient and found his pitch. Fantastic job dude!
Basketball Adv.
Today’s COD is Jayden Richardson! He’s been working hard all session and has a great bag of tricks up his sleeve on the court. Thanks for a great session to all of basketball!

Today’s COD is Charlie Tullis! Charlie was showing off major handles in King of the Court and hits deeps shots like Curry.
Broadcasting
1st period broadcasting COD is Grace Oathout. Grace rocked her first ever segment today and sounded like an absolute natural in the studio!
Closing out Summer 2021 broadcasting as our (potential) last broadcaster of the day is Cassie Sellers! Cassie prepped us for med test with some awesome diabetes trivia live on air!
Boating and Canoeing
Ahoy there matey! It’s Pirate Tuesday! Lawton Lee and Randy Angel voyaged across Lake Dealy as pirates this morning, splashing everyone in their path. In 1st period, Brady Almquist had lots of F-U-N with the pirates as he got sprayed and tipped despite some initial nerves! Charlie Tullis faced the pirates like a champ tipping his canoe for the first time!
Challenge Course
An exciting day if sailing the sky in challenge course! For flying with a great attitude and supporting their friends while they zipped, our CODs are Lucky Hill, Collin Ayers and T Whitworth!
Choir
Today’s COD is Kaylee Gonzalez! She made our last official day in choir so fun and worked hard playing the keyboard. Thanks for an amazing session to everyone in the class! Proud of you all!
Fishing
2nd period COD was David Sanchez! Not only did he have F-U-N catching fish, he also turned into broadcasting for a song!
4th period we have a co-COD for their amazing teamwork that caught them 12 fish. Give it up for Noah Reyes and Cooper Shackelford!
Finally for 5th period we have Asher Koppel! He caught a turtle so big it wouldn’t even fit in our net!
Field Games
The two words that describe Olivia Dalasta: small but mighty. She pulled out some sick moves during world cup and defended the goal like a champ. Go Olivia!
Football
With the 1st pick in the 2021 3rd session Sweeney football draft, 2nd period selects Ben Asarch from Brown Cabin! An absolute ball on the field today. Ben took one to the house today and showed us what those banners can do! Keep up the great work Ben!
Hiking
Joshua Platts really had an excellent day spreading love and positivity during our improvised Friendly Friday! What a finish, we hope to get a bonus hike tomorrow.
Our COD in 2nd period is Elliot Derington. Elliot is a friend, leader and a superior hiker. Thanks for sharing your talents with us!
Way to go Ivanna Colmenares! She rolled with the punches and was an inspiration during our friendly Tuesday graveyard!
Lacrosse
Lacrosse’s COD was Sadie Mayo! A staple to our class this session. Today Sadie did a great job in helping to set up our scrimmage!
Miniature Golf
In our best and biggest class of mini golf yet, Ben Asarch stood out for his motivation to play and all his hard work on the course. Thanks for a great day of golf everyone!
Paintball Combat
Today we channeled our inner Susanne Collins and had ourselves the First Annual Paintball Hunger Games! Our campers fought long and hard, but in the end there can only be on victor… The valiant victor and COD for period 1 was Jack Cooper and for period 2 was Matty Martiny! Awesome job guys, and may the odds be ever in your favor.
Riflery
Aiden Cabrera is the riflery COD! He did a great job shooting the targets and practicing gun safety! Great job Aiden!
Rock Climbing
In 5th period today, Jack Swanson reached the Summit of Mount Ernie! He was also a great spotter!
COD for 4th period was Sydnie Stephens-Broussard! She was incredible as a climber and spotter and was super encouraging and patient with everyone!
Rocketry
The whole class had a great time launching rockets on Fly Day! We launched all the rockets and saw some crazy landings! So congrats to Avery Fender, Caslyn Gamble, Aiden Roark, Arabella Machet, Avery Mercer, Amira Price, Cooper Shackelford, Morgan Vanhorn, and Matt Wilson for being our out of this world CODs!
Roller Hockey
The CODs for roller hockey are the incredible mentor, jr. ment pair Henry Hoffman and Alejandro Solis! They played an F-U-N game of fun to fun! Great job boys!
Tennis
Our last COD for tennis this summer is none other than Korbin Thayer! He made some incredible backhand returns in doubles King of the Court. Awesome job Korbin!
Skatepark
Skatepark’s COD today is Chloe Thomas. Chloe was brave and speedy as she totally owned the skatepark. Keep up the great work Chloe!
Ultimate Frisbee
Grant Fraser is always killing it on the field and today was no exception. He goes after every disc and has incredible throws, so it makes sense that he is our COD!
Video Production
Today’s Vid Pro COD helped out the other younger campers and helped out with some of the edits for our past activity videos. I’m talking paintball, swimming, water park, oh my! Give it up for Simmons own Brinlyn Conley!
Weightlifting

Arts and Crafts
We had the BEST start to week 3 in arts & crafts! We made beaded bracelets & worked with leftover clay! In 2nd, Milan Thompson worked hard on a cool bracelet all class period! In 3rd, Vivien Hollinger made an excellent bracelet for her mentor! Way to craft, everyone!
Basketball
Today’s COD is Frank Schmidt! Frank is a great passer, loves to keep others involved but is also a sharp shooter and can drill any shot around the court. Today’s word of the day, Selfless, is exemplified in Frank! Basketball-Advanced COD is a gentleman and a scholar, Drew DaVault! He is an infallible leader, tireless worker and tremendous player. We are honored to award him this Day 16 basketball COD Award to our fearless crusader of the Beautiful Baller Game.
Boating and Canoeing
We are so excited for another week of B&C on Lake Dealey! Roland Peery brought the energy to period 1 and we are so glad to have him back in class! Quade Hanson did an awesome job paddling and canoeing all across Lake Dealey. He was a great help in bringing in boats at the end of the period. Thank you, Quade!
Challenge Course
Happy Zipline Day, Challenge Course! Our CODs for their positivity and helpfulness are Will McClelland, Hank Martiny, and Grant Miller!
Choir
Choir’s COD today was Cady Blair! She had so many amazing ideas and worked hard preparing for the talent show! Way to go, Cady!
Football
Today’s Camp Sweeney first pick of the day made some pretty incredible runs with his team the Ben Asarch Memorial Team! Watch out NFL for Nathan Demaray!
Hiking
Starting off with our triple class merge with soccer and XC, Grant Laughlin took home COD with a smile on his face and an attitude to bring about world peace. And even though we just learned names, Sadie Thomas only needed her charisma to make her recognizable as 2nd period hiking COD. Lastly, during the lake hike following Spillway Falls, Aiden Roark led the way with waterlogged sneakers and a yo-yo as our guide.
Paintball
In PB Sandwich 1, Gunar Freeman came in paintball gun a-blazing to win COD. He was fearless in leading his team to victory in TDM. In PB 2, Harry Rahn was an absolute monster for his team and a great strategizer. Amazing job today, Paintball!
Rocketry
The rocket building team of the day is Amira Price and Avery Mercer! They brought a ton of energy and excitement to rocketry! Amira & Avery built and decorated an awesome rocket in just one day!
Roller Hockey
10 goals? 10 minutes? or something like that!! Leading the Nibblers to victory, Cooper Shackelford had an incredible day in Roller Hockey.
Swimming
In 2nd period swimming, Trey Gaines had a fantastic time swimming and splashin’ around at the pool with his junior ment today! In 3rd period swimming, Landon Hinkebein was a swimming superstar today, playing on the wibit with friends, throwing a football, and more!
Ultimate Frisbee
Today in Ultimate Frisbee, Mason Dark caught many frisbees and played extremely hard. He was an overall amazing presence on the field, bringing positive energy to his teammates! Great Job!
Volleyball
Lucy Bartram made her presence felt on the court today and had F-U-N while doing it. Way to go! First timer Garrett Hicks showed that effort, heart, and natural ability easily makes up for experience. Bump, set, and spiked it.
Weightlifting
We got another powerhouse weightlifter in the weight room and that is Alejandro Solis. He did great at staying active. Great work!

Harry Rahn was our Archer of the Day! He spent the entire class shooting arrows and hitting targets. He was a ton of help collecting arrows and following safety rules.
Arts and Crafts
Emma Kornegay had an incredible arts and crafts day! Not only did she make a great bowl, she was upbeat, making campers laugh and made a great bracelet. Way to go!
Are they frogs? Cats? The APDs? Brinlyn Conley’s clay masterpieces are abstract works that spark conversation galore.
Baseball Adv.
Learning new things is really tough… but not in the slightest for Mr. Ryan West! Today’s baseball-advanced COD learned how to throw and catch with perfect form ihn only just a couple minutes despite it being his first time ever playing!
Basketball
Today’s COD is Johnny Post! Johnny was an absolute bucket today and refused to miss. He was also a great teammate and made sure everyone got to get touches on the ball.
Boating and Canoeing
Happy Pirate Tuesday! Ruby Milliken had a blast out on the water today, managing to keep her canoe upright. Josh Wilson conquered the paddle board today as the pirates circled him!
Broadcasting
Josey Edgar is our COD today for first period broadcasting for offering to help the activity counselors set up for the period. She was helpful, positive and on point! Thank you so much Josey, great work!
Rachel Sheffield was the second period broadcasting COD today using her phenomenal skills in piano and knowledge of card games to stay busy. Great job Rachel!
Ultimate Frisbee
Despite the temperature being at least 100, Sydney Mayo had an amazing day in ultimate! She had many catches and touch downs. Also, She played nearly the whole time with 110% effort in the high temps!
Pro Fishing
1st period COD was Emma Busby and 4th period COD was Alex Anderson! Both of them helped out their friends and the counselors!
2nd period COD was Maddie McElroy for catching a huge turtle, nice job birthday girl!
Football
Today’s Sweeney Football First Pick of the Day showed perseverance and strength and helped with the Flaming Hot Sweaty People’s two point conversions! Watch out NFL for Xavier Trent!
Miniature Golf
Michael Vanderbrook was our COD for all his hard work and having F-U-N on the course today! Thanks for all the persistence Michael!
Rock Climbing
COD for rock climbing today was spotting and climbing like nobodys business! She hung out with the eagles and even squeezed in a moon landing. Congratulations Caroline Massey!
Swimming
Caroline Massey had a fantastic time on the wibit with her friends having a lot of F-U-N in the S-U-N!
Sweeney Fit
The Sweeney Fit COD goes out to EJ Collins for her incredible leadership in warm ups and relays. EJ never gave up and pushed past her highs to win the circuit. Great Job EJ!
The week 2 Sweeney Soldiers are ready to grind all week long and absolutely crushed our name game workout and ab circuit today! The Queen of jumo squats, Ellie Linde, led the way through the day and came ready to play making her our COD!
Tennis
Talk about talent! Today’s COD, Ben Asarch was grinding it out in the beaming Texas sun. He made an incredible driving slice! An incredible effort for an incredible kid!
Video Production
Today’s Vid Pro COD was just a terrific actor and portrayed all of the terrifying traits of a Jurangadon! Watch out Hollywood for this up and coming actor, Meason Bakunas!
Zumba
Our COD for Zumba was Jett Wiswall!! He was dancing, giving song suggestions and was sweaty! We love having Jett at Zumba!

We picked the perfect warm sunny day to make suncatchers in Arts & Crafts. In 1st Tessa Kendrick used paint in a new technique and added some color to her suncatcher. In 2nd Madi Austin made a beautiful suncatcher for her sister group. Mason Dark took what he learned in 2nd period to teach others during 3rd period. In 4th Alaina Urbach made her suncatcher as a gift for her grandparents. Thanks for a great day, y’all!
Baseball Adv.
There are many famous walls – The Great Wall of China, Andre the Giant specifically in the Princess Bride, and that poor brick wall shattered in famous billboard-topping pop song “Wrecking Ball” by Miley Cyrus. But today’s Baseball Advanced COD has ’em all beat. Nathan Hill stood tall today and showed the Sweeney world that no ball would be getting past him no matter what. Congrats, dude, and keep up the good work!!
Basketball
Bree Scharg was our camper of the day for Basketball, and today she was fantastic on the court. Constantly moving around and applying a lot of pressure made it really hard for the other team to score. She also had great rebounds and was overall a great team player. Keep up the good work!
Boating and Canoeing
We had an awesome day boating on Lake Dealey today! Chris Boyd had so much F-U-N on the paddleboard in his first day ever in Boating & Canoeing! Aiden Roarke was a natural out on the water today despite it being his first time ever taking boating & canoeing! He was zooming across the water and helping out tipped canoes!
Broadcasting
Kickin’ off KPFC’s finest in week 2 is Madeline Knippa! Madeline was an amazing host, getting all of our broadcasters involved for the whole period! Good work, Madeline! Ava Kate Scarborough was amazing in second period, sounding like a natural during her first ever radio appearance!
Choir
Dylan Legg was choir’s COD! He did a great job sight reading the chords for “This Is Me” and killed it on guitar. Great job, Dylan!
Cross Country
The XC camper of the day is Grant Fraser! Grant raced in the front of the pack on “make a new friend Monday” pushing himself and working hard while meeting new campers and encouraging his fellow runners! Grant is a returner runner with a great attitude and is a role model for everyone! Go, Grant!
Disc Golf
Our very first COD of the week is also our first hole in one of the week! Shoutout to our COD, Johnny Post. We can’t wait for more classes with you.
Hiking
The wounded warrior Ryan West battled through a knee strain and had a stellar day on meet and greet Monday. Keep up the awesome work! Kayla Royer is the poster child for Camp Sweeney meet and greet Monday. She went above and beyond and we are so pleased to have her! Our two session warrior, Cali Smith, is our COD. She led the pack all day and brought an energy that was incredible.
Lacrosse
Today’s COD was John Ash! John has been a true lax legent this session by putting his body in the line of fire in net! Strong player for the cheese lovers!
Miniature Golf
Trey Gaines was our super motivated COD today. He was having a blast on the green and being a great golfing partner, too!
Paintball Combat
Today’s COD (and birthday boy) for Paintball Combat deserves some long overdue recognition. Gus Ebner comes to the field everyday with an amazing attitude and insane skills. Give it up for Gus!
Rocketry
Kaleb McEuin joined rocketry for the first time today and brought a lot of F-U-N to the class! He had a great attitude and was super helpful with cleanup!
Roller Hockey
We had a lot of F-U-N playing roller hockey today. Now the friendliest player was our COD Avery Mercer! Avery was playing along side her team so well and really helped tie up the score making the final score fun to fun! Way to go, Avery!!
Swing Dance
Our COD was Julia Brumer! She was super helpful and motivated to be in the class. She did great learning the steps to our upcoming dance. We are so excited!
Tennis
Congratulations to Olympia Wolff for tennis’s camper of the day! She was our only Team Cheeto Returner, and she was a great leader for her team. Keep it up, Olympia!
Tumbling
The camper of the day for tumbling was Sydnie Stephens-Broussard. She was a star on the tumbling mat and her walking hand stand amazed everyone.
Video Production
Today’s Vid Pro COD spent some time brainstorming some awesome lines and scenes for his narration part of our skit! Super excited to what more he has in store once filming starts tomorrow! Watch out, Hollywood, for Roman Evans.
Waterpark
Leslie Luedke faced her fears and made multiple jumps on and off the trampoline. Great job, Leslie! Arabella Machet stepped up to the plate and was playing catch with the Byrne Bros and made it look easy. Go, Arabella!
Zumba
For the first day of the second week of zumba, our COD was Milan Thompson! She was really giving it her all and stumping it like she mad! We are so excited to have you!
