This lovely Leonard Lady was not only so sweet today, but was helping so many other campers! Period 2 COD goes to Shir Paz! Kenisen Galchutt is the Bonner Babe of the hour! She is the COD for 3rd period because of her amazing creativity and positivity! Kenlie Carpenter was a ray of sunshine today in Arts and Crafts! Despite a shorter class period 4th period, she stayed positive, helped her friends, and had fun! Dani Hart is period 5 COD! She is always so positive and a HUGE support to her friends and the class! Go Dani!!
Baseball Advanced
Kade McCullough had some deep hits today from the plate! He was calling his shots like Babe Ruth! Kade is also an awesome teammate as he helped his fellow campers all day!
Basketball
Carson Lunnie was a star in basketball today! Not only did he show great fundamentals in the layup lines but he also showed great skill and teamwork during the game! Keep it up Carson!
Basketball Advanced
The advanced basketball COD is Wilbert Jackson! He showed impressive skills all period long and was an overall great teammate! Congrats Will!
Boating and Canoeing
The lake pirates made their first appearance this summer but they were no match for Ashton Khavari. Ashton managed to avoid all the waves and stay dry in the boat while the pirates were up to their silly, splashing shenanigans. We had such a fantastic pirate Tuesday! Our camper of the day Nathaniel Melamed helped save and bring in the shipwrecked ships from the dreaded Dealey pirates and was overall a wonderful example of the Sweeney virtues! Nice work Nathaniel!
Broadcasting
1st period, as the first volunteer to do a radio segment vital to our program, Cooper Shackelford is our COD! He explained the meals we will be dining on tonight, getting us excited for the day and teaching us about all the delicious food Sweeneyland has to offer! 2nd period, after creating and recording a radio segment on a passion of his, Christian Brady is our COD! He taught us all about Sonic the hedgehog today, diving deep into Sonic music through the years. We all learned from his segment, and maybe even some of us that we gotta go fast!
Challenge Course
In first period, Dominic Reinhart kicked off the day in style, courageously leaping off the paver pole and singing the Superman theme song the whole way down. By second period, Camp Sweeney 2022 history had been made when Bella Martinez was the first to actually stand and jump off the daunting paver pole. To round out the morning at challenge course, Teddy McNally reached the very top, realized how scary it was but still found the courage to leap off. What a brave camper!
Choir
COD goes to Roland Peery! He helped greatly while searching for talent show songs and he showed off his voice and musical knowledge.
Cross Country
COD in cross country is Kylie Stubbs. Kylie was truly a leader today as she reliantly lead our cross country pack through the trails! She stepped up and encouraged all runners! We are very proud of you!
Disc Golf
Today’s COD Bryson Kahler was swingin’ and flingin’ that frisbee today with a PASSION! Way to keep it up!
Field Games
Donna Chen was cheering on new friends and supporting members of her own team and the opposing team during monarch dodgeball today. Way to go Donna!
Fishing
Cali Jomsky had a very positive attitude and contagious smile. She spread positivity on the dock and helped make sure everyone had a great time fishing! 4th period, even though she wasn’t fishing today, Madeline Keffer spent her time journaling about positives in her life. Focusing on the good thing in our lives is what Camp Sweeney is all about and is the kind of atmosphere we want on the dock! 5th period Rachel Grishman was very patient and helpful to her friend Callie with helping her get her minnow on her hook! Helping our fellow campers is what we love to see!
Fishing Pro
COD Calvin Walther showed out in pro fishing today! He reeled in two big bass.
Football
Today’s COD is Jeff Torres for the outstanding leadership he showed in getting everyone involved and embodying putting others before himself throughout the class.
Frisbee Ultimate
Today’s COD was flinging frisbees up and down the ultimate field. He was all over the field, offense and D, and was a great sport! Congrats Christian Nicolas!
Lacrosse
Even with a shortened period Lila Downing laxed the day away and left it all on the field. Way to go Lila!!
Miniature Golf
Our COD, Ashton Khavari, did an awesome job today on the mini golf course. He showed out with lots of hole-in-ones and Sweeney sportsmanship!
Paintball Combat
Our COD for 1st period is Tyler Essad! Tyler’s leadership and sharpshooting skills helped lead his team down the field to victory! Today’s 2nd period COD is Riley Bergstrom despite feeling low, Riley jumped back in the game and led his team in combat!
Paintball Jr
Today’s COD is sharpshootin’ Westover Harvey! Westover’s patience, teamwork, and ability to hit his counselor with paintballs made him a treat to have in class!
Riflery
Riflery’s second COD goes to Korbin Thayer! While he wasn’t droppin clays and peelin the paint off targets with every shot, this camper remained vigilant of other campers safety.
Riflery Advanced
Advanced Riflery’s second COD was Avery Clark! After lighting it up at the range by hittin every clay, she actively assisted the counselors by displaying her expertise with the firearms to less experienced campers.
Rock Climbing
Period 4, Dominic Reinhart did an amazing job on the walls today! He got help from other campers and was extremely friendly and helpful to other climbers! Period 5 Annabelle Strohbehn soared high on the wall for her first time at rock climbing! Her positive attitude and patience here infectious as COD!
Rocketry
COD goes to our only Bonner lady in the class, Jade Maldonado! Jade has been amazing at helping others and including fellow campers in cheerful conversation. Let’s go Jade!!
Roller Hockey
2nd period Liam Ray showed off his roller hockey skills! He scored twice and was a great sport to others.
Soccer
1st period soccer Bella Martinez is our COD. She was a leader on the girlies team and scored an awesome goal while continuing to encourage her teammates. #GIRLBOSS
Soccer Ironman
Nolan Woods was our COD in ironman today. He scored 3 goals in our scrimmage and kept his energy and hard work up throughout the whole class.
Swimming
Period 3 COD is Max Clasen for showing off how real sharks attack minnows. Max won not one but TWO games of sharks and minnows. Congrats Max! Period 4 COD is Cierra Thompson. She was an all star in the pool today playing sharks and minnows and help her ground against 20 sharks today. Congrats Cierra! Today’s COD was an all star in multiple sessions winning a record number of games of sharks and minnows. Congratulations Zac Nagy!
Swing dance
Our shinning star in 4th period swing dance was Alyssa Augustyniak! She was an amazing leader for stretches and getting our wonderful dancers warmed up for class. She also showed great skill and it was clear that she had practiced our dance!
Tennis
Scarlett Reinhart did amazing in tennis today in addition to killing her practice of her serves. She also showed leadership in explaining how to play her favorite tennis game to the whole team.
Tumbling
Our COD today was Sarina Adhikari! She was helping out the tumbling class while encouraging them to try new things! She really killed it doing backbends! Way to go today!
Volleyball
Volleyball COD was Hudson Kinnard. Hudson was super engaged on the court today and was constantly trying to keep the ball off the ground. Her energy and excitement are inspiring to the counselors, older campers, and younger campers. Woo hoo, go Hudson!
Videoproduction
Today’s Vid Pro COD is Asih Teel! Asih directed a thought-provoking film about a criminal interrogation regarding a missing rubber ducky (which Charlie ate). She commanded the room and used her leadership to make the show a success! Great job Asih!
Water Park
We had a fan-tube-ulous day at beautiful blue lake Dealey in waterpark. Our first COD, Gus Lodato, was a great helper and very patient in line for the jet skis! Asih Teel, a lovely Dillard Doll, absolutely rocked it today. Congrats to Roland Perry for waterparking so great that they earned COD. Yay Dealey divers!
Weightlifting
Today’s COD was Wilbert Jackson. He was on a mission today and his squats were unbelievable. His legs are bigger than even the Hulk!
Zumba
Today’s COD was a new addition to zumba class, Nathan Hill! He jumped into the activities with a ton of excitement and killed the hoedown throwdown for country Tuesday! Yee Haw Nate!!
