Sweeney Health Update
July 28, 2022: 10:00 a.m.
Yesterday, during our routine screening for Covid-19, which includes PCR testing of all campers and staff, some of the camper population tested positive for Covid-19. Fortunately, most of these campers have no symptoms at all.
Parents of these campers have responded quickly and campers who have tested positive have either returned home to rest and recuperate or isolated in the Sweeney Medical Center.
We have continued to operate our Phase 1 protocols and further implemented Phase 2 mitigation protocols. Phase 2 requires all staff to be masked in indoor settings and provides and promotes masking for campers in indoor settings. Also, we have expanded testing capacity for cabins that have been exposed to COVID-19.
At this time, parents of campers who have tested positive for COVID-19 during Phase 1 protocols have been contacted. Per CDC guidelines and the recommendation of our medical directors, campers will be eligible to return to regular Camp Sweeney program activities after five days of isolation and being symptom free for the most recent 24 hours. We are excited to welcome back healthy campers.
We are prayerful that the last seven days of third session remain healthy and full of F-U-N to the M-A-X. The health of our campers and staff remains our top priority. We will keep you updated on any changes to our protocols.
